MY mother had a saying I didn’t really understand, but the more I hear about the things that happen in this country the more I begin to realise its meaning.

The saying is about the lunatics running the asylum, and the case of the cross being removed from the Accrington Crematorium after it being in place for 59 years was a perfect example.

There will always be differences in things like religion, but you cannot keep changing things for the sake of a few people because, in the end, this just causes even more friction.
