ALL is well with my world, so why am I complaining?

Well, when I say all is well, that is not quite the truth, for I am suffering and when I say suffering I really mean it – with tinnitus.

For the uninitiated this means that I am always hearing a constant, continual buzzing sound.

If I am watching T V or listening to the radio it is covered up and unnoticeable but sitting here writing this to you, it’s very loud and very tiring I’ve been to the doctors’ clinics and all that stuff all to no avail. Sorry to moan about it but it’s so persistent, so if anybody out there has a cure or a help, please let me know.

I was at a do at Eanam Wharf Saturday lunchtime where there was quite a lot going on but I was there primarily to watch my great-granddaughter Krystal perform a form of aerobics with other members of her class.

Fortunately it was a lovely day and needless to say the audience consisted mainly of proud parents and relatives, and of course the teachers who had obviously worked very hard; but their hard work had succeeded as they put on a great entertaining display.

I’d quite forgotten how grand a spot the Wharf is, with its little stage, a refreshment bar with music, tempting food and drinks, all this and a waterway with boats, what more could you ask for, for a lovely day out?

Now you understand I am speaking as a member of the slightly older generation – if I was just a bit younger then I might be thinking a little bit differently.

But all joking aside, the show that the children put on was slick, very professional and needless to say, very well received, so a good day was had by all.

I’m finalising my plans for my ‘bucket’ trip, it’s rather difficult, there are so many places I want to visit, so many people I want to see.

I suppose that’s the trouble most people have, if you have travelled and lived in a few different places. Fortunately now, with modern computers, you can actually see the people you are talking to, which makes it a little easier.

I must get one, it could be a lot cheaper than travelling, but would it be as good?
