Medical research has and will continue to be able to produce medicine to cure or delay the onset of all sorts of ailments but at a cost and what benefit to the quality of life?

I am 80 and have had a pretty good life am and quite happy with it. There will, however, in the next few years come a time when I have had enough, and pills or hospital care while delaying my eventual death are pointless, and I am ready to go in my own bed remembering all those good times, not some sort of life unable to do the basic of tasks.
