WE ARE currently taking in enough extra people every year from abroad to fill a city as large as Leeds.

No country in the world can cope with immigration on this scale. Where will they live? What schools will their children go to and, most of all, where will the money come from to pay for medical services and any care they may need in old age?

Recently, the government said that most of these had come here to work. That is one big distraction on their part.

It is high time Cameron did what he has spouted about for so long. Give us a referendum, because as long as we are members of the European Union we will never be able to control our borders.

Whatever concessions Cameron agrees to will never be enough.
