MAY I thank Blackburn with Darwen Parks Department for its quick response to the request made by residents of Queens Road asking that more attention be given to the East entrance of Queens Park.
The large metal planters, with their ‘Welcome to Blackburn’ logo, look well with their newly planted primroses and they are so lovely after months of neglect.
The flowers say welcome to Queens Park with all its beauty and history, but, for every plus there has to be a minus.
Why do people steal our primroses and re-plant them in their own garden?
Why are these people so spiteful? They are preventing visitors to the park from having a flowery welcome.
I appeal to all using Queens Park whether visitor, dog walker or speed walker/cyclist to help me.
I will do my very best to keep these iron planters attractive, school pupils walking through the park each day are my main supporters but everyone has a part to play.
Please provide a litter bin to stop the East entrance becoming a litter scattered area.
