RE: Blackburn supermarket gets blamed for ‘disgusting’ litter mess (LT, April 17).

Whilst I agree in some respects about the rubbish near Tesco, as it’s a supermarket there is bound to be litter around. However it’s the people visiting the store who create most of the litter.

If people took more pride in their surroundings this problem could become a thing of the past.

It’s not just Tesco who should be responsible for clearing it up but Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council should get involved and help keep on top of the problem.

Incidentally, with the work going on for the new road, the rats have been forced out of hiding places into pastures new.

Let’s try and get some pride back into Blackburn. If we all either take our litter home or put it in the bins provided then we would be well on our way to a cleaner and nicer town to live in.
