Lancashire councillors dealt a blow to energy giant Cuadrilla. They voted against the company setting up a new site in Lancashire to carry out fracking tests.

This is a huge setback for Cuadrilla’s plans. It shows that the council are listening to local people.

But the fight isn’t over. The council’s yet to decide whether to allow fracking in other parts of Lancashire.

It looks like councillors are trying to do the right thing, so knowing that thousands of their voters support them could convince them to say no to fracking once and for all.

Fracking is a project I cannot support and I would ask constituents to raise this with their own ward councillor and lobby them. Ask them that they and the council in Lancashire should not support fracking.

Let’s leave our beautiful countryside as it is.
