RE, ‘Blackburn open for business’ despite three prominent units lying empty

Not been to Blackburn for quite some time but the building shown on the left used to be the old Job Centre. Various businesses have come and gone in there over the years. The town centre started to become a mess.

Roughly around the time when they built Debenhams (opened around 1980) and redeveloped that side of the town. Mid 70s onwards. Then they messed around with the road system round there and the rest is history.

I suppose The Mall is okay eg it looks okay and hasn’t yet started dropping to bits externally like the tiles on the car park were for years but the rest of it no one seems to be able to make better.

How many years does it take when other towns seem to get it right. As to this fantastic bus station ... Yep you’d think there would be signs.

Guess someone who should have thought of it didn’t. There you go. Bit like the rest of it. Not much thinking went into it.
