RE, Blackburn biker in call for council to repair potholes

How dare Keith Walton complain about a few holes on Roman Road that have been there hundreds of years. Does he not realise that those who built that road are no longer even alive so how can anyone expect problems not to have developed in the meantime?

Seriously though, the roads are in a mess and many would love to know where the responsible lies. Is the cost based on budget or urgency? You can‘t help but notice when holes have been filled they soon return to what they were like before again. Surely there must be a recognised way that repairs are carried out to comply with curtain standards?

Also, a friend of mine is disabled and relies on his disability scooter to get around on. It wasn‘t until he told me of the difficulties he has that you have to wonder if there is not someone overseeing those requirements when that work is being done. Where dropped curbs are needed etc. One particular obstacle that was brought to my attention is on Roman Road as already mentioned. A lamp post of some description placed directly in the middle of the path where he can’t get past!

Who is responsible for these problems to be sorted out?
