Ever been to a play or a show, live in a theatre?

I've been to a Panto, of course, as a little boy (Oh no, he didn't...OK, get it off your chest!) in Birmingham. The Hippodrome, I think. Ken Dodd if I remember right.

At school, we were taken to see the Mikardo & Carmen. I have a dim memory of being taken to, possible even Stratford to see Twelfth Night in the 60s. Donald Sinden as Malvolio, Bill Fraser as Sir Toby Belch & Judy Dench as Viola, even found a link to it... http://theatricalia.com/play/f/twelfth-night/production/17s

On & off we've been back to Blackburn College performances, & trips to the Thwaites', the Octagon, Manchester & beyond. We've seen my favourite ever, Cabaret several times. Les Mis, Tonight's the Night, Blood Brothers & some others.

I've taken youngsters too to see live theatre & musical shows, including Stags & Hens by Willy Russell & either Grease or Saturday Night Fever. One young person asked me, are those real people in this film!?

We've started going a little more recently. The play about Alan Turing, Much Ado about Nothing. Wished we'd seen Maxine Peake as Hamlet recently. War Horse at the Lowry was really enjoyable.

Ever been to the theatre? Enjoy it?

I struggle to follow the plot & enjoy the spectacle at the same time. Am I normal? I struggle with our Bard's olde worlde language & iambic pentameter? Am I normal?
