AN offer from a Rossendale firm to give away free grit to elderly residents has ended.
Rossendale Rock Salt was giving away 100 free five litre tubs to people over 70 as part of a promotion through Rossendale Radio.
The firm, part of the EJ Stansfield group, based in Bury Road, Rawtenstall, said the promotion had had a great response.
Manager Colin Stansfield said: “We had an incredible response.
"Relatives and neighbours of people over 70 nominated them for the grit and we delivered it for free all across Rossendale.
“Overall we started the rock salt aspect of the company in September and we’ve already gone through 14,000 bags.”
