Tricksters strike:

11:22am Wednesday 30th May 2001

A pensioner with paralysed legs was robbed of £1,000 when thieves took away her walking frame. Hazel Lovick, 74, from West Croydon, wrote to the Guardian to appeal for help in tracking down the men who tricked their way into her home on May 9 (Letters, page 21). She said: “I was frightened because they took my frame away and turn my back to them. I still haven't got over it yet.”
