Parking hell

IN RESPONSE to Mr Wilsons letter about his unfortunate mistake ending in a £40 parking fine (News Shopper, October 18) I have great sympathy with his outrage.
Like him, I always buy a ticket and display it in my car window, yet on the two occasions I have been minutes late back to the car, I have obtained parking fines of £40.
The council can afford to pay someone to penalise law-abiding citizens yet, when I take my two children to the park, I find myself cleaning broken glass from the swings to make them safe.
I dont see any council worker rushing to clear up the mess within five minutes of the crime being committed.
