    VIDEO: Vida's Walkabout - Colne

COLNE has a unique position in Pendle.

It sits right at the end of the M65 motorway and as such benefits from a lot of traffic and therefore trade.

This can cause quite a debate for the people of Colne, as there many HGV vehicles that trundle through on their way to Skipton and beyond.

The people of Colne have a very strong sense of identity, they know their town and what advantages there are to living there.

One of the area's most popular events is the Rhythm and Blues festival which takes place every year. It draws tens of thousands of tourists and visitors to the area and puts Colne on the map, despite being a fairly small place.

Being in the borough of Pendle, it benefits from the fantastic scenery and countryside so in addition to those who visit for the R&B festival, Colne gets its fair share of 'eco-tourists'.

This year the people of Colne are aiming to make the town plastic bag free, and hope that all retailers will join in this commendable venture.
