  • "Every time Kean says "it is only a small number of fans that are protesting", that is an admission by 'The Brilliant' that he knows everybody is protesting against him! It isn't delusion, he is fully aware that the masses are against him! This is the 21st Century, there are no noble, honourable motives left in the world."

Ewood Park road closures order for Blackburn Rovers match days

AN experimental emergency order to close roads around Ewood Park on match days has been imposed.

The 18-month legislation means the police and Blackburn with Darwen Council can parts of Nuttall Street, Top O’ Th’ Croft, Velvet Street, Tweed Street, Kidder Street, Tapestry Street and Calico Street, for two hours before a Blackburn Rovers game and for one hour afterwards.

Motorists will not be allowed to drive down these streets unless they have a permit.

The council have said the order will only be deployed if there is a high-profile fixture or intelligence suggests a big crowd. Usually, only points on the A666 are closed for an hour after the match.

A spokesman said everything would stay the same around matchdays and that the order was simply for ‘flexibility’.

The club will pay the cost of the order.
