WE write to thank all those local people - more than a thousand! - who joined the march and rally to Save Trafford General through Urmston last Saturday.

Thanks too, to all those shoppers and shopkeepers, residents and motorists who clapped and applauded and honked their horns as we wound our way through the town centre.

We hope we did not delay you too much - and provided a colourful and noisy spectacle for a sunny Saturday afternoon!

Thanks also to the police who helped make it a safe and secure demonstration of the strength of public feeling to Save A&E and other vital services at Trafford General.

We made our voices heard loud and clear - let us hope that health bosses and the politicians are all listening.

As we have said - this is just the start of the campaign and there will be a lot more events and activity over the coming months.

Hopefully we can make them as enjoyable, passionate and committed as last Saturday's march and rally.

Finally, the public voice does matter - write to your MP and your local councillors, write to the Trust, join us at the consultation meetings, visit us on our web site and on Facebook - come to our campaign meetings. This is our local NHS - we must fight to save it!
