PROMOTERS of a charity Cricket match, in memory of a Todmorden soldier, are urging sports fans to stump up for tickets.
Friends of Corporal Jack Stanley, who died in April from injuries sustained while on active service in Afghanistan, have now placed tickets up for sale for a June 22 spectacular.
Jack’s Big Smash will take place at Todmorden Cricket Club from 5pm.
The 26-year-old, who attended Todmorden High School, was a keen cricketer and footballer.
He was seriously hurt during an incident in Lashkar Gah in early February and lost his fight for life at a UK hospital two months later.
Tickets are available for the fundraiser from Jack’s House pub, Gordon Riggs garden centre, Jay’s Hairdressers, the town’s golf club, the cricket club itself, Walsden Cricket Club and Jake’s Butty Van.
Wristbands were also placed on sale for Jack, raising more than £1,200, and a music concert took place earlier this month.
