TODMORDEN Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society has announced its autumn play as John Godber’s Teechers.
The ‘light-hearted comedy’ looks at a modern secondary school with a ‘twist of controversy and humour’.
A spokesman said: “It is usually played by three actors who take on up to 10 characters each, with the help of plastic, noses, wigs, glasses and the like. However, depending on interest there is flexibility in numbers as some roles can be pulled out of the huge mix.
“The story is that of Mr Nixon and three of his students, who are preparing a performance of The Mikado. During the mayhem and teenage angst that ensues, various other teachers and students enter and leave – providing many hilarious moments of confrontation and anxiety,”
Matt Parker will make his directorial debut for TAODS with the play, and a get together takes place tonight at 7.30pm at Todmorden Hippodrome followed by a casting workshop on Tuesday, June 25.
