A MARKET trader gave a new meaning to ‘hot dogs’ when he offered customers the chance to sample a curry made with the world’s hottest chili.
Jeff Thomson, who runs Curried Away, on Todmorden Market, was puzzling over ideas to raise funds for PAWS, the Pennine Animal Welfare Society.
And he hit upon the idea of giving away sample of his favourite fare, spiced up with the naga ghost chili, which is 10 times hotter than your average habanero pepper.
Jeff raised £60 for PAWS, which he donated to Belle Holden, of the charity, which cares for elderly, disabled and abandoned pets.
Currently the charity is catering for around 20 animals, meeting food and vets bills for the pets. Donations can also be made at the Curried Away stall on Saturdays or the PAWS stall on the Sunday market.
