A STREET seizure of alcohol from under-age drinkers in Todmorden has led to a social media storm.
Police in the town used their Facebook account to report the confiscation of a crate of lager and bottles of cider from youngsters in the town centre.
But the item triggered a fevered debate.
Insp Dave Browning has now issued an online warning to those considered to be abusing the Upper Valley team’s page.
He said: “I will not tolerate foul and abusive language on this page. Those using such language have been, and will be banned from using this page.”
Police also defended taking the alcohol off the young drinkers, highlighting the number of calls received regarding ‘loutish behaviour’ and occasionally criminal damage.
