UNDERGRADUATES are set to get work experience on a BAE Systems placement at the defence giant’s Samlesbury site.
Over a 12-week period, the students will work in a variety of disciplines from engineering to business development.
The summer internship scheme was introduced following successful pilots during the past two years.
It is funded through the government’s ‘Employer Ownership of Skills’ initiative and provides undergraduates with experience of real work at a graduate level. Andy Chapman, early careers manager, said the scheme provides ‘core behavioural and technical skills’.
