FREE access to leisure facilities for servicemen, servicewomen, and their families is now being rolled out in Rossendale.
The scheme will allow people serving in the armed forces and their children to use various leisure facilities in Rawtenstall, Haslingden and Whitworth at no cost.
Coun Peter Steen said: "As someone who has served in the forces I am sure this scheme will be welcomed by those who are currently serving.
"It is a good way for the borough to show that we have pride in our service people."
Coun leader Tony Swain added: "The scheme will be funded as part of our Rossendale Pride campaign.
"We are also looking to fund a suitable memorial for people in the borough who have already lost their lives serving the country. We are getting a list of names together and will be identifying a potential site as soon as possible."
