A WATERFOOT nursery has won a £5,000 green makeover.
Good as Gold Childcare Centre, Gaghills Road, won the cash as part of a campaign for nurseries across the UK, spearheaded by the children's character, Bob the Builder.
The grant will be used to upgrade the nursery's washroom facilities with new toilet cubicles, drinking fountains and vanity units under the sinks.
Improvements will be made to the garden to encourage children to play outside and learn more about their external environment.
The centre's staff collaborated with parents and children to apply for the funding with an entry that impressed the judges.
Children learnt about reducing, reusing and recycling waste, together with its clear focus on energy efficiency to win the nursery a place in the twelve finalist makeovers.
Kimberley Hartley, from the centre said: "We are thrilled about winning the award."
