Waterfoot Adele sound-alike works with rap star Tinie Tempah

A WATERFOOT mum-of-two has been working on a collaboration between grime-pop rapper Tinie Tempah and pop sensation Adele.
Lareena Mitchell, 32, of Burnley Road East, has performed a tribute act to the multi-award winning artist Adele for the past three years.
She was approached by an English composer, working on a demo for the hotly-anticipated track between Tinie and Adele, to sing Adele’s part before it was sent to the rapper.
Lareena was sent the track and lyrics and asked to record Adele’s chorus at a Rotherham studio.
She said: “I got offered the opportunity a month before he wanted me to go into the studio but I only got the song the day before I was due to record the demo.
“They sent me the track and the lyrics and a medley line that you have to go over. I felt honoured.
“I really hope this track works out. I have only heard the chorus, but the track really stays in your head.”
Lareena believes the song is called Come Back Around and hopes to hear what the real Adele thinks.
Before turning singing into a full-time career, Lareena worked at The Fudge Factory in Whitworth, owned by her parents.
She added: “I have performed in pubs and clubs and people told me how much I looked and sounded like Adele.
“As the gigs became more frequent, I stopped working there and concentrated on singing full time. Becoming an Adele tribute acts is one of the best moves I have ever made.”
And now Lareena, who has travelled around the country to perform, has been chosen to headline the Matthew Street Festival in Liverpool in August, alongside fellow sound-a-likes of Jessie J and Rhianna. She said: “Organisers wanted an Adele sound-a-like and they searched the internet and chose me. My agent phoned me up with the good news and said they thought I was the best.”
She said she adores Adele’s songs and her favourites are One And Only and Set Fire To The Rain.
“One And Only is one of the best songs I have ever heard in my life. The lyrics are very meaningful.
“I have always been a big Adele fan – even before I started performing as her.
"I was one of the first Adele tribute acts and I have had some great opportunities with it. I’m not a big headed person, but I do sound like her.”
When she’s not performing, Lareena – mother to Harry, six, and Thomas, one, and wife of mechanic Steven – enjoys singing soul and motown numbers.
