Rossendale school hosts literacy day

A ROSSENDALE school is launching a literacy festival.
Fearns Community Sports College, Stacksteads, has designed a day of activities aimed at making literacy fun.
The event planned for Saturday, will start at 1pm and the school’s Year 10 and 11 literacy leaders will be helping to run and judge a series of challenges.
Literacy co-ordinator Rebecca Roach said: “This will be a fantastic family event that will show visitors the superb opportunities in literacy that we offer students at Fearns.
“There will be a host of exciting activities and challenges with lots of prizes to be won.”
