AN upcoming Northern indie rock band are set to make to perform in East Lancashire this weekend for the first time in a year.

Courtyard, made up of Matthew Riley, Callum Usher, Louis Taylor and Luke Allcock are set to play at Rose N Bowl, Stacksteads, on Saturday from 8.30pm.

Initially starting off as a covers band whilst finding their feet the lads have developed their own sound and are now releasing their own music.

Gigging across Yorkshire and Manchester, the band has supported the likes of Sigma, The Carnabys, Paves and Into the Arc.

The lead guitarist, Callum Usher, from Weir, is returning to play in his home town for the first time in a year.

The 21-year-old said: “This gig will be a chance to make a statement within Rossendale.

“We can make a name back here rather than in random cities in the UK.”

Luke Allcock, from Lumb in Waterfoot, is the band’s drummer and this gig will be the first time his mother comes to watch.

The manager of the Newchurch road pub, Jon Lowe, said: “The band are well liked and we feel very privileged to have them play at our venue.”
