THE WORLD gravy wrestling championship is returning to Stacksteads on Monday, August 26.
The Bank Holiday event at the Rose 'n' Bowl in Newchurch Road will see contestants wrestle in the gravy for two minutes while being scored for audience applause and their different moves.
Gravy wrestling is now in its seventh year and raises funds for East Lancashire Hospice.
Australian television station, Active TV, are sending a crew to the championships to compete and report on the contest.
Food will be served throughout the day and there will also be an outside bar. Other attractions will be inflatables, fancy dress and big screen entertainment.
Admission £2 for adults and £1 for children. Competitors and businesses are invited to take part and raise funds for charity.
