A WOMAN who knifed her partner after a drinking session has been warned she could to go jail.
Burnley magistrates heard how Marcia Sinkinson, 37, slapped victim Anthony Higson struck on the head with a rolling pin before lunging at him with a large knife. Mr Higson suffered wounds to his abdomen and thigh.
Sinkinson, of Burnley Road, Rawtenstall, admitted assault causing actual bodily harm on April 30. She was remanded in custody until May 6 and the bench said they were not ruling out custody.
The chairman told the defendant she had stabbed the victim twice and the wounds could have proved fatal. They added she had serious health and mental problems, including excessive drinking.
Sinkinson, who was told the court wanted to punish and rehabilitate her, had her case adjourned to see if suitable accommodation could be found for her to be bailed. Sinkinson was arrested but told officers she couldn't remember anything about it.
