Occupants taken to hospital after front door of Rawtenstall home torched

TWO people were treated in hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire involving the front door of their house.

Firefighters were called to the house in Bacup Road, Cloughfold, Rawtenstall, at 2.43am this morning.

The blaze wrecked the door, spread to curtains and smoke-logged the rest of the house.

Police said a 29-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endager life.
