A HEADTEACHER is campaigning with parents to tackle the problem of dog fouling in Rawtenstall.
James Pegg, headmaster of St James the Less, met with police to highlight the problem which has infuriated residents in recent months.
Mr Pegg said: “There has been constant dog fouling problem on the pathway in front of the school car park.
“The children sometimes walk on ahead of parents and tread in it before parents can warn them.
“This is then trodden into the carpets at school where it can be a health hazard.”
Police have reminded dog owners that an on the spot fine of £75 can be issued to any walker refusing to clean up after their pet.
