ROSSENDALE has received a financial boost after three new businesses relocated to the borough this week.
Web developers Quotech; Poseidon Design Solutions Ltd, which is a specialist sprinkler designers; and Community Energy Trading Limited (CETL), will now operate from Station House and Link 665 in Rawtenstall.
The recent business deals have been described as the “shoots of recovery” for Valley trade.
Tracy Clavell-Bate, sales and letting manager at Hurstwood which helped secure the deals, said: “These deals are a sign that there is growing confidence within the business community in the Rossendale Valley.
“The commercial property sector took a major hit in 2009 as the global recession started to bite, but we have detected a tangible increase in interest in the early part of 2010.
“Whilst it would be foolish to say the commercial property sector has turned the corner, I think we are starting to see the green shoots of recovery.”
It is understood that around 10 new jobs will be made available for local people as a result of the new deals.
Poseidon bosses chose the Rossendale offices after out-growing their former home at Blackburn’s Dylan Harvey Business Centre.
Owner Craig Griffin said: “We needed additional space and the location and excellent value is what attracted us to Station House.
“Business has been going really well and we are looking at taking on additional staff in the summer, and we have the scope to expand further over the next year.”

If we get the rail-link re-established we'll get more businesses like this coming here.
