Magistrates were also told Darbo was the owner of a second American Bull Dog named Alfie which was dangerously out of control in the same place and at the same time.

Darbo pleaded guilty to two counts of being the owner of a dog which was dangerously out of control in a public place.

Magistrates ordered that both dogs must be muzzled in all public places and on a lead at all times. A fence must also be installed at Darbo’s home in Shawfield, Rossendale.

Alfie must be neutered with the next six weeks.

Magistrates also made an order which meant unless an exemption is obtained within two months both dogs will be destroyed.

Darbo was fined £150, ordered to pay £100 compensation and £85 costs.

A £30 victim surcharge was also imposed.
