THE Friends of Nuttall Park have received a £5,660 grant from Awards for All to help them celebrate the park's 80th anniversary in style.
Preparations are already underway for the occasion, which will take place at the Ramsbottom park between 12.30pm and 5pm on Saturday, July 12.
On the day there will be a host of fun-filled activities, ranging from traditional fairground and craft stalls, story-telling and face- painting, to a cherished car show, a variety of bands, and competitions.
Mike Bent, parks and countryside manager, said: "The funding from Awards for All, together with contributions from the Local Area Partnership, the Parks and Countryside Service, and sponsorship from local businesses, will go towards supporting the event, as well as providing some new features to enhance the park."
If you would like to take part in the event, or are interested in volunteering, have memories of the original donation ceremony, or from being a child in Ramsbottom, contact Amy on 0161 253 6970.
