THE 26-year-old woman who died in a horror crash in Ramsbottom has been named.
Justyna Stanczak, from Bury was the passenger in her partner’s Toyota Celica when it smashed in to a stationary van in Walmersley Road, near to the Red Hall Hotel, Ramsbottom, at 12.40am on Monday.
Police, firefighters and an ambulance were called to the scene after the 38-year-old driver lost control of the car when it skidded on black ice.
The driver got out of the vehicle before the emergency services arrived.
Miss Stanczak was taken to Fairfield General Hospital with suspected hip injuries, but later died.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed until 6 February 2012 pending further inquiries.
