A FATHER-of-four with a fear of heights has raised £500 after doing a 14,000ft skydive in aid of charity.

Ramsbottom man Dave Trulio, 33, completed the jump for children's charity When You Wish Upon a Star.

He said: “I have four children and I can only imagine how devastating it must be told your child is very sick.

"This charity's primary aim is to grant the wishes of children suffering from life threatening or terminal illnesses; it’s such a wonderful thing to do.

“I have a fear of heights so choosing to skydive to raise funds struck my friends as rather odd, but I wanted to do something that would make people put their hands in their pockets, and challenging myself seemed a great way to do that.

“My colleagues thought I’d taken leave of my senses! I’m not known as the superhero type so I don’t think they thought I’d really do it!"

“I I really wanted to help. the jump was a heady cocktail of absolutely amazing and scary."
