TWO men have been arrested after a man was assaulted in Ramsbottom.
At around 6:35pm on Saturday 12 September 2015, police were called to the rear of the Mason Arms Pub on Bolton Road West, Ramsbottom to reports that a man was lying unconscious.

Officers attended and found a 46-year-old man with a serious head injury before he was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
A 27-year-old and a 25-year-old man were arrested late Sunday evening on suspicion of Section 18 assault. Both remain in custody for questioning.
Detective Sergeant Stuart Barker of GMP’s Bury Division said: “Although we currently have two men in custody, the investigation continues and we are still appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“We believe that the victim may have been involved in an argument with some men at the rear of the pub prior to being assaulted.
“If anybody witnessed the assault or the preceding confrontation then I would like to urge them to please come forward.”
