A DAUGHTER disturbed burglars who broke into the family home through the kitchen window.
Police have appealed for witnesses after the break-in at Mercer Street, Helmshore, in which car keys were stolen.
The family called the police after the 18-year-old disturbed the offenders, at 5.30am yesterday.
None of the vehicles, which were kept in the driveway, were taken.
Police dog patrols were called in but the offenders have yet to be traced.
A police spokesperson said: "At 5.30am the occupants of a house in Mercer Street, contacted police stating that the daughter had disturbed an intruder in the house.
"Officers attended and it was ascertained that offenders had entered via a kitchen window and stolen some car keys of vehicles parked in the driveway.
"No vehicles were stolen and police dog patrols attended to assist in tracing the offenders. As yet they have not been traced."
