A POST office in Haslingden is the latest casualty of Government cuts.
Ravi and Benita Sethi, who run Longshoot Post Office, Birch Avenue, presented an 800-name petition to MP Greg Pope, against the proposals, which shut 24 outlets across East Lancashire.
Post office services at the branch ceased from Monday but the Sethis are continuing to run their store. Campaigners said the branch was a lifeline for elderly people in the area, who found it difficult to travel.
