AN appeal has been launched to help find a 'much-loved' lamb stolen from a stables.

The lamb, called Horris, was taken from stables in the Moor Lane area of Haslingden between 7pm on Saturday and 5pm on Sunday.

He was owned by Jill Randalls, who lives in Burnley, who said the lamb is as 'loved as any pet dog or cat.'

A total of 10 other sheep are kept at the stables and the owner said she does not know why Horris has been targeted.

The sheep weighs roughly 40 kilos and has one small 2 inch horn.

He has a yellow tag to identify his chip in our ear and an orange owner tag in his other.

Mrs Randalls said: "We just think he's been stolen, we have no idea why.

"We've checked and there are no gaps in the fence and everything else is in place.

"He has a twin brother who has been crying out for him since he's been gone.

"We're just appealing for anyone in the community who might know anything to get in contact.

"Please help us bring Horris home."

Police have been informed about the incident and are investigating what has happened.

Anyone with any information should contact the police on 101 quoting crime reference number LC-20171218-0529.

Alternatively Mrs Randalls said they could contact the 'Rossendale Responsible Animal Rescue' Facebook page.
