ONE of Haslingden’s popular live music bars has opened up at new premises in the town.

The Live Lounge based in Deardengate moved across the road and will bring talented local musicians to the town.

Formerly known as Britain’s youngest landlord, Live Lounge owner Tom O’Toole said the cocktail and wine bar is an added bonus for the town’s nightlife and will be showcasing national artists.

“We cater for everybody and offer an excellent range of cocktails and beers. We have taken all of the staff from the old premises and have also take on a few more and we plan to take on more over Christmas,” said Mr O’Toole.

He also said that artist from reality shows such as The Voice and The X Factor have made appearances at the venue with Lareena Mitchell making an appearance on Christmas Eve.

The 25-year-old said: “We work with local bands and I do my best to promote them.

“It’s great to see the musicians come from Lancashire and beyond.

“We have had a great reputation for live music and we will continue to do so.

“We are keen on bringing musicians from all over the place so I will promote local and national artists.

“Lareena Mitchell was in The Voice and people are still keen on finding out what’s happening with these kind of artists who are great at what they do.”

Mr O’Toole was named as Britain’s youngest landlord back in 2011 when he opened Madison’s Wine Bar in Rawtenstall when he was aged 20.

He said: “My passion is to make Rossendale a great place to visit.

“The nightlife in Haslingden is great. We have some really cool bars here and it’s so busy at the moment we are even opening up on Christmas Day.”

The Live Lounge is open on Thursday to Sunday from 2pm until 2am and is a ‘great boost’ to Haslingden’s nightlife.

Cllr Tony Haworth said: “This is a great boost for Haslingden and I wish the owner all the best.

“It is fantastic that business is booming in the town and it’s very positive news.”
