A MAN who died after a car crash, in Edenfield, on Monday night has been named as Bernard Boylan.
Mr Boylan, from Bury, died after his Nissan Almera collided with a lamppost and a tree on the southbound A56 dual carriageway.
Online tributes have flooded in for the 25-year-old, who died from serious internal injuries at Royal Oldham Hospital.
Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses to the accident, which closed the road for four hours.
On Facebook, a message from Jasmin Boylan said: “Our eyes filled up with tears as we heard the news. It never occurred to me how much we could lose. We find ourselves wishing that it wasn’t real.”
Another message, from Linda Boylan, said: “Goodnight, God bless my beautiful nephew Bernard Boylan. All I can say is you were too good for this world. We’re all heartbroken.”
Sergeant David Hogarth, from Lancashire Police’s road policing unit, said an investigation was under way.
