A SCHOOLGIRL raised hundreds of pounds for the MPS Society after her brother died of a rare genetic condition.
The charity supports individuals and families with mucopolysaccharide diseases, which are rare, life-limiting genetic conditions.
Katie Heath, 12, and her parents Jason and Elizabeth, from Bacup, presented the a cheque for £525 at the Society's biennial conference.
The Whitworth Community High School student and her mum, raised the cash by holding an afternoon tea at Acre Mill Baptist Church, Stacksteads.
A further £260 was raised after Katie's friend Jasmine Clayton had her hair cut.
Katie’s brother Jack had a rare genetic condition MPS II Hunter Syndrome, which affected his speech, mobility and development. He died in June 2013, aged 13.
