New homes plan for Rossendale scrapyard

FRESH plans to build homes on the site of a Rossendale scrap yard are set to be lodged with the borough council.

Harron Homes are behind the latest proposals to build 30 new houses off New Line.

Eight years ago outline planning permission was given for 50 properties at the same location.

And in November 2008, a further consent was granted to Newfield Jones Homes for 45 homes.

The latest bid includes 27 four-bedroom homes and three three-bedroom residences and would see 137 and 139 New Line demolished.

An exhibition has taken place, for residents to view the proposals.

And they can also be examined online at www.communityconsulting.co.uk The site has variously been used since the 1800s as a cotton mill, engineering works and saw mill.
