Three arrested following three-car collision in Rawtenstall

THREE men have been arrested following a three-car collision in Rossendale.

Firefighters had to free a man from a silver Vauxhall Zafira that ended up on its roof after the crash near the New Hall Hey industrial site in Rawtenstall.

The A682 was closed for more than three hours after the incident at 5am today because of an oil leak.

Police said no-one suffered serious injuries.

A blue Vauxhall Vectra and black Ford Focus were also involved in the smash.

A 22-year-old man from Bury and a 24 year-old-man from Rossendale were both arrested on suspicion of drink-driving. A 19-year-old from Rawtenstall was arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle while unfit through drugs.
