FOUR people were taken to hospital after a crash on the A56 bypass on Saturday.
A lorry, a van and a car collided on the southbound carriageway between the junctions with the M66 and the A681.
The stretch of road was closed, leading to lengthy delays as traffic was diverted through Rawtenstall.
The crash happened at 11.10am and the road was closed until the early afternoon as fire crews cleared the wreckage.
The four people were taken to Royal Blackburn hospital but suffered only minor injuries.
