A FORMER county councillor has said he would consider standing for election again, despite losing his seat at the last vote.

Sean Serridge, who used to represent Bacup and Whitworth, is now adjusting to life outside county hall after losing his seat to a Tory whitewash last month.

He is now working full time for his old mentor, MP Janet Anderson, assisting in her bid to retain her seat.

Mr Serridge said: “I’ve been a member of the Labour Party for years, and while I don’t always agree with everything the party does, I’ll keep fighting my corner for what I believe in.

“A week is a long time in politics, but public service is something I believe in and at the moment I do intend to stand for election again, maybe in a couple of years or so.”

MP Janet Anderson said: “It is a great shame that Sean lost his seat through no fault of his own.
