CCTV images have been released of a gang who robbed a bookmakers shop in Haslingden.

Three masked robbers, who were armed with sticks or metal bars, threatened staff before stealing cash from the Ladbrookes shop in Manchester Road, Haslingden.

The images show two of them jumping over the counter to confront two female members of staff while a third remains in the doorway acting as a lookout.

Police said the robbers were then seen to run from the premises onto a side alleyway which leads towards Pleasant Street and Dale Street.

Staff and customers were not injured during the robbery, which took place at around 9.10pm on November 7, but were left badly shaken.

Detective Sergeant Ben Hodgkinson, from Rossen-dale CID, said: “This was a terrifying incident for staff and customers alike and we are extremely keen to find those respon-sible.

“I am appealing for anyone who may recognise any of the offenders in the CCTV images, perhaps by their clothing, to search their conscience and come forward.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who was in Haslingden town centre at about 9pm on the night in question who may have seen or heard anything suspicious.”

He added: “Staff were threatened during the incident with two of the offenders having what have been described as either bars or sticks.

“Either way, the offenders appear to have been well prepared to use weapons – it is only good luck that no-one was hurt.

“It is imperative that we catch those responsible.”
