MORE than £1million has been awarded to community projects in the county.
The National Lottery has donated a total of £1.2million to 78 Lancashire community projects, ranging from wellbeing activities for ex-servicemen and women to an upholstery project for older men.
A total of £186,000 has been awarded to Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale CVS and the funds will be used to turn their community centre into a hub run by volunteers.
The proposed community hub will offer a mix of services and activities including support programmes for survivors of domestic violence, as well as disability boxercise and a community cinema.
The North West as a whole has received £8.4 million, which is being distributed across 423 community projects and organisations.
