POLICE have released footage of two men they would like to speak to following a 'cowardly' attack on a woman.

A police spokesman said the 21-year-old was attacked at 2.30am on March 30 as she walked home from a night out in Rawtenstall.

The men, who the victim described as Asian and in their mid-20s, followed her from Bank Street to Grange Road and onto Newchurch Road before dragging her to the ground and making off with her handbag.

Det Con Andy Lever said "This was a particularly cowardly attack on a lone female who was walking home from a night out.

"It appears the two males have been around Rawtenstall town centre before they started to follow her home.

“It was a busy night as it was the start of the Easter weekend.

“While the CCTV footage isn't the clearest, we would ask that people think back to that Easter weekend and if you were in Rawtenstall town centre and recognise these males, please contact us immediately".
