A MAN is wanted in connection with two 'serious' dog attacks in Haslingden.

A 63-year-old man was walking on Deardengate when he was attacked by a dog around 6.40pm on October 28 last year.

The animal bit the victim on the arm, before the man freed his arm and later attended hospital for treatment.

A 20-year-old woman was bitten on the arm at a property in the Blackburn Road area on December 30 last year.

The victim was later treated at Royal Preston Hospital and needed plastic surgery.

Following enquiries, police believe the same dog was involved in both attacks.

They now want to speak to this man, pictured, in connection with their enquiries.

PC Ivan Brown, of Lancashire Police, said: “We are investigating two serious assaults in the Haslingden area.

“In both incidents the victims have been left with serious arm injuries. We are very concerned about the behaviour of this dog and want to identify the owner, who we believe is this man.

“At this time we have limited information but if you know who he is and his current whereabouts, please contact police.

“We need to locate this animal before anyone else is injured.”
